When you are Grounded, your mind feels clear, you are calm and centered, and the world seems to flow around you so easily that you are naturally prepared to meet each moment.
Rather that feeling reactive to everything, you are able to co-create each moment with the world around you.
Rather than feeling scared, tight in your muscles, small, or contracted, you feel deeply relaxed, alert, and expanded. Your eyes feel soft and bright instead of bulging. You are connected to your heart in a steady, almost-unaware way, and you feel powerful.
Grounded, you are empowered. Your endocrine system is flooding your body with nourishing, regulating hormones, you have creative thoughts and solutions, and your brain is firing electro-neurons in rhythmic patterns. The excess electromagnetic energy generated, naturally flows deep into the earth. It is possible to be only partly grounded. When your system is stressed and on high alert, it can take 1-2 hours to ground your basic energy. The more disturbed your biorhythms, it may take a few days, or even a few weeks to return to that grounded and centered state.
3 WAYS TO GROUND:
🌺 Put your feet into the earth and focus on how they feel in the soil or mud.
🌺 Lay on the earth, on your back outside beneath a tree, and focus on the sound of your breath for at least 10 minutes. Watch the tree branches, and let your thoughts slow and release.
🌺 Sit on the earth, outside, with your spine straight. See your spine and sitz bones extending into the earth as if you were a tree and your bones were your root system. Follow your spine into the earth in your mind’s eye, imagining that your breath also follows this path. Inhale oxygen, and exhale, releasing your stress or concerns into the earth to compost. Envision the direct connection from the base of your spine all the way to the core of the earth. Feel gravity anchoring you to the earth. Breathe.
